I spent two weeks reviewing and comparing distinctive receiver/mp3 cd players. I lastly settled on this product. I just could not beat the price (132.98) cardomain.com was supplying. (They threw in every thing I necessary to install the unit.)

2) This unit is related to the fairly formidable JVC "Arsenal" series. The significant differences are that the arsenal series is satellite radio ready and can manage a jvc cd changer. Other than that and some display differences these are the similar.
I don't know about you but I do not plan on finding satellite radio and with the mp3 capability, getting a changer is pointless, unless you uncover getting your cd collection on 15 mp3 cd's and getting to manually place in a cd to large of a job for you. Think of this radio, "Arsenal Lite". Sounds great, much less dollars.
three) This unit has a terrific sound. Even with the factory speakers, this things certainly rocks. This alone is sufficient to offset the shortcomings. Your highs will come by way of clearly and your lows will come by way of even improved.
4) There are also preamps outputs so if you are deaf, you can get even more sound out of this unit. Don't forget that this unit also has a loudness control.
5) There is also a dimmer control. You can manage the display ugliness a little bit.
6) This unit, sound for sound, stacks up nicely against the likes of Sony, Pioneer, and Kenwood. (A single salesman told me that JVC gets their tuner portion of the receiver from Pioneer.)
I do not assume you can go wrong with this unit.

Really good price for a dependable MP3 deck. Had mine over a year, operates fine! Not a large quantity of options, but awesome for the value!
