Buyer Critiques

This unit functions very well for the revenue. I reside on a dirt road that can get a small washboard effect to it at occasions and the unit has in no way skipped. The only true complaint I have is that there are so a number of functions on this stereo that it has a bit of a learning curve. But once you get the hang of it, there are a LOT of attributes for such a cheaply priced stereo. The screen is about the size of an iPhone 4 or DroidX/Thunderbolt phone. I am also sending a signal through cable to a monitor in the back seat of my Suburban, which is good for backseat passengers. This is a wonderful deal for this price tag.
Two fundamental notes about wiring this unit. Very first, if you basically ground the pink wire, you can override the restriction of watching the video player only when the auto is parked and parking brake engaged. With it grounded, all videos play all the time. Please know that by bypassing this restriction, you may be breaking the law in your state, so beware.
Secondly and most importantly, I had a issue with the unit that I did a internet search for and located that other individuals had as well, but no one particular had an answer for it. I even referred to as Pyle tech assistance and they stated the unit was defective and I ought to return it. It was not. The predicament was that I would randomly get a message on a blue background that simply had the word "Car" with a compact triangle next to it. One day, the radio was operating fine and I was going by means of the automobile wash. My automatic headlights turned on considering that of the darkness and it started acting up and giving me the message once again. I figured out then that it was related to me turning on the lights. I pulled the stereo out and checked all the wiring - all the colors matched up appropriately, but that was the predicament. I had connected the orange wire from the radio to the orange "dimmer switch" wire on my truck without checking the label. The orange wire on the unit was for a backup camera connection, not dimmer. So when the lights would come on, I was sending 12V to the camera connection instead of a camera. That was causing the situation. I disconnected the wires and it has worked flawlessly ever given that. They honestly should use a unique color as people that have installed a lot of radios over the years simply assume to just match up the colored wires and you are prepared to roll.
I do advocate this unit. For the price tag, it can not be beat!

Wanted a touch screen for my bug and this was a best fit.
Great clear screen for being so compact. Visually looks superior, does not look out of location in my VW. Very same capabilities as a bigger touch screen, quality device, cheaper price, simple to operate, pleased more than all with my buy.
