    Customer Critiques

I just bought one particular of these units at a local merchant and so far so really good! I just wanted a thing cheap and uncomplicated to upgrade my factory stereo. I wanted bluetooth but there are too lots of head units that have horrible bluetooth capabilities so I decided to go without (I may possibly add the extra unit later on this 1).
This unit is equipped with a 7 band EQ as nicely as a subwoofer level manage, both are Need to haves in my book. So far just after one particular day I am fairly pleased with the sound good quality! Crisp Highs and zero distortion that I can hear. I have been out of the car audio game for about 10 years now so I was clueless going in and for $125 I wasn't expecting considerably but I must say I am pleasantly suprised! I nonetheless have my factory Dodge speakers in and also added a 12" Orion Sub/Amp in the trunk. The menu's can be a bit tricky but just after only one particular day (2 hours) I assume I have them down pat. If you happen to be searching for some thing uncomplicated for an up-grade to your current factory tunes I would surely advise this unit. A Kenwood deck with equivalent attributes goes for practically $100 way more and I can't see that there would be that substantially of a difference in sound and I am not seeking to enter any sound competitions anytime soon. Bottom line: if you are searching for an upgrade from the factory head unit (junk) installed by the manufacturer..for the price, this head unit is a steal!

This is my first replacement radio experience and I did a lot of analysis to replace the stereo in my 1998 Subaru Impreza. I wanted some thing that had HD and a effortless AUX input for my iPod. The JVC KD-HDR40 fit perfectly into the dash using the current factory sleeve. Due to the fact it was my very first self install, the only factor that took A LOT of time was creating the new wire harness. If I had to do it again, I would zip through that method but the 1st time was a challenge for me. I implemented a replacement harness that was specifically developed to be spliced amongst the new stereo and the factory wires and soon after that element was finished it went in simple and easy. The HD signal locks in especially rapid with virtually no lag and when the controls are not intuitive, they can be figured out pretty effortlessly. The instructions are not as clear as I would like but I was able to get my preferred stations preset just after some trial and error. Then I found that the presets can be surfed just by clicking the up and down arrows ideal next to the fast forward and reverse buttons. Not also negative although it would be great to have dedicated preset buttons. Not a con BUT the display is super vibrant at night. Even on the lower setting it drowns out my AC/Heater control lights. I do like the large knob that controls volume and the selections inside the menu but it worries me that the plastic material could snap off more than time. Overall, Terrific sound through the factory speakers, decent controls and HD at a fair price. I advocate!
