We purchased this item with the hopes it would operate for our trip to the coast in our new Denali (w/built in DVD). SURPRISE IT WORKED! Just employed batteries, so you can replace as necessary. Super uncomplicated on/off switch. Sound excellent is excellent!

I haven't employed the headphones but, but I'm giving a single star regardless of how they function (ultimately). They arrived with no power provide for the transmitter, just a couple of wires sticking out of it. So I have to go out and decide to buy a 12 volt battery and some type of connector. That is really annoying, and I do not like it AT ALL.
-- Follow-up note: I went to Radio Shack and bought a holder for 8 AA batteries and a connector (equivalent to a 9V battery connector). Even though I have a couple of hundred dollars worth of soldering gear at household (for restoring pinball machines, mainly), I had to order a soldering iron because I am out of town for an extended time on a contract job. I soldered the connector to the transmitter for the headphones, so I had a 12V battery, albeit ugly. The headphones operate fine. The sound is fantastic, no additional problems. But I am leaving the one star rating. It ought to have been created clear and obvious in the advertisement for the headphones that no power supply was included for the transmitter and that soldering would most likely be needed. I would have happily paid a couple of dollars a lot more for a power supply, rather than the $20 or so that I eventually had to spend.
